The cold, gray walls trap you. Time stretches. Each day resembles the last: a monotonous schedule punctuated by rations and guard rounds. Communication with the outside world is restricted. Loneliness becomes your constant accomplice. You scramble for meaning in this confined existence.

You try to hold onto a sense of self. There are flickers of humanity: a unexpectedly compassionate guard, a fleeting conversation with another inmate, the seldom seen kindness of a friend. But these moments are fleeting, quickly swallowed by the unforgiving reality of being incarcerated.

The weight of your choices bears down you. Forgiveness feel like distant, elusive aspirations. You question if you'll ever truly break free, not just from the bars, but from the psychological confines that enfold you within.

Conviction Versus Consequence

A belief is a potent thing. It can fuel actions, ignite passions, and direct us toward our goals. However, each conviction carries with it an inherent burden. Our convictions shape our choices, and those choices inevitably have repercussions, both for ourselves and the world around us. A crushing weight settles upon them/her/him, a suffocating blanket woven from the threads of unspoken copyright. Outside/Beyond the walls of this solitude/isolation/silence, the world pulses/thrumms/vibrates with life, but here, time stands still/drifts by/flows at a snail's pace. The only company they have is the echoes/ghostly whispers/silent screams of their own thoughts/memories/yearnings.

These Walls Have Ears

If one think that barrier can hide secrets, think again. Walls, like all other items, are often of listening. Ancient legends warn people that walls have ears, and while this may seem similar to a myth, the fact is quite alarming.

Innocence Lost's Burden
